Performance Venues, Concert Halls and Great Places for Music in Orlando

The thrilling city of Orlando has more than just the famous mouse to brag about. Orlando is a top notch stage for artists of theatre, symphonies and all of the performing arts. It's little wonder Disney made a home here. Take in a show at one of the many impressive Orlando theaters.

Mad Cow Theatre Playhouse

One of the sole professional theaters in Orlando, Mad Cow offers a full season of plays and musicals. Theirs is an everlasting commitment to bringing top spec theatre to Central Florida audiences. This company dabbles in avant-garde and original theatre pieces with the classics. Thanks to the local support of patrons and government arts grants, this theatre company is going to move into their new home in central Orlando. Take in a Tony award winning musical or enjoy one of many dramatic pieces offered in their full season.

Bob Carr Performing Arts Center 

You don't have to go to New York City to see Broadway's best musicals. At the impressive 2500+ seat venue, there's a full line-up of Broadway national tours and special star performances. International opera and ballet companies can also be seen here as they stop by Orlando theaters on their world tours. The Bob Carr Performing Arts Center is also the home of the brilliant Orlando Philharmonic.

The Plaza Theatre 

This locally established two-screen theatre in the city of Orlando was recently rebuilt into one of the most leading-edge, highest caliber concert halls in Orlando. The Plaza Theatre is Orlando's main live event location. Head lining musicians, world famous performers and even the Orlando Symphony play the Plaza Theatre to sold out crowds. Though The Piazza Theatre is at present open, it is undergoing an overhaul. The theatre anticipating it's to a upcoming season in their new home with an even more robust stage and house.

Amway Center 

Considered the best of the of concert halls in Orlando, the Amway Center hosts the largest names in music and sports events. In one season, patrons can choose between international speakers, music concerts, an Orlando Magic game, or even a night at a Barnum and Bailey Circus. The Amway Center also hosts hockey events, ice skating and professional ice skating shows on their permanent ice floor. There is never a shortage of family style entertainment at this cool venue.

Orlando Repertory Theatre 

For an event of modern or classical theatre from the top actors in Orlando, check out the Orlando Rep. In partnership with the University of Central Florida, the Orlando Repertory showcases both MFA student and professional Equity stage performers in all types of genres. Along with a full season of evening performances, there are morning performances for field tripping children who enjoy theatre. The Orlando Repertory Theatre is actually the top in family entertainment.
