Don't Get Scammed With A Timeshare Exchange Find Out How Here.

Should you ever have considered owning a timeshare, but were uncertain if you wanted to be limited to a single property and destination, then perhaps you should consider a timeshare exchange. If a timeshare exchange is what you want, remember that not all companies do this, so make sure to ask. It is also advisable to have a serious look around all the companies, large and small and make sure you do sufficient research.

Timeshare exchange is pretty much what it says on the tin, it is a vacation exchange where you could pay an on-going membership cost to be able to pick from a listing of available properties within or below your designated bracket, if you want something in a higher group, you may be able to upgrade on a temporary basis at an additional cost.

In general terms there are 2 different systems you will come across. One system is based on your possession of a timeshare in a static location and week and that can be exchanged for equal properties in a similar nearby week. The 2nd system is to purchase points that are exchanged for a week within a certain points bracket.

You do need to plan ahead for a timeshare exchange, similar to preparing for a regular vacation; it will demand a little more forethought. If your desired location is not available in the selected week, you may lose out or can go on a waiting list for the really popular properties.

Companies that deal with timeshare exchange include, but are not limited to, Interval International, RCI (Resort Condominiums International), and Trading Places International. RCI timeshare probably has the lion's share of the market, but you are encouraged to read David Cameron's blog at http://davidcameronsdiary.co.uk on his experience with RCI (yes, it is 'that' David Cameron!).

Don't disregard the smaller independent timeshare exchange companies though, as some of these are worthy of consideration. For example, Redweek is developing quickly, and now provide a points system. Another, Dial An Exchange, does not ask for any ongoing membership fee so is a quite attractive proposition. It simply makes money by asking for an exchange fee. Do some study yourself and you will find more, but remember to meticulously check any company before you commit your cash.
