The report released this week by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids shows Nevada is one of five had no government funding for prevention programs this year.
Nevada joins Connecticut, the District of Columbia, New Hampshire and Ohio down.
The U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends the state $ 32.5 million a year for tobacco prevention programs to implement.
Co-sponsors of the annual report on smoking prevention programs is the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society and American Lung Association.
The report says the states have cut funding for anti-smoking by 36 percent, approximately $ 260 million over the past four years.
